Johanna Brinckman is a German photographer specializing in commercial, editorial, and celebrity portraiture. Born in Hamburg, she launched her career at 21 and has since developed a distinct visual signature that makes her work immediately recognizable.

 

After five years in Los Angeles, Johanna is now based in Germany again, continuing to collaborate with both international and German talent. Her portfolio reads like a who’s who of contemporary culture, capturing personalities such as Palina Rojinski, Matthias Schweighöfer, Nikeata Thompson, Moritz Bleibtreu, Karoline Herfurth, Joko Winterscheidt, and Jan Böhmermann, alongside international names including Jared Leto, The Game, Bazzi, and Katherine Schwarzenegger.

 

Johanna is known for blending artistic direction with authentic expression, bringing the same curiosity and care to photographing celebrated figures as she does to portraying people from all walks of life. Her process is collaborative, creative, and fun - a quality that has made her a trusted partner for artists and brands alike.

In addition to photography, Johanna has recently expanded into directing. Her debut short film, shot in Los Angeles, was nominated at international film festivals.

 

When not shooting, Johanna spends time painting and exploring vintage finds, drawn to objects and details that feel unusual and full of character.
