Oliver Schwarzwald

was born 1973 in Danzig, he is married and has two children. Oliver started his photography career while working for danish photographer Mads Madsen. The years in training with Mads had a huge influence on Olivers work. "He taught me how to work creatively, behind and in front of the camera lens." Oliver started working as a freelance photographer in 1996. His career is focused on still life and food, bringing together two of his particular penchants. As a young lad, he loved cooking. When he realised he could combine cooking and photography, it was something like a revelation for him. Several freelance assistance jobs with still life and food photographers followed. And with his feet firmly in the business, advertising shootings came along for various clients and for an ever greater range of products. If there is one thing that is important to Oliver, its variety. His topics and style can best be described as lavish and luxurious sometimes, and very straight forward and reduced in other instances. In short, Oliver is a versatile photographer whose work takes advantage of a wide array of inspirations and influences to focus on what counts. Today, he works for important advertising agencies in Germany, France and Eastern Europe. Oliver is based in Hamburg.
