Michael Rathmayr

Michael grew up in Tirol and has been based in Hamburg since 2013. Michael dove into photography in his teenage years and later moved from Innsbruck to London, to study Media, Society and Photography at South Bank University. With the degree came a solid basis in journalism, sociology and extensive training in analogue photography, both studio and on-location. After moving back to Austria, he co-founded the magazine 6020 and soon started working as a freelance photographer. Stories took him to places like Southern Sudan, Western Australia, Russia and Indonesia. Using his background in editorial portraiture and documentary photography, Michael maintains his natural, engaging visual style for commercial assignments.
